My Sister's No-Bake Cookies Recipe

I love this recipe. My sister gave it to me about 10 years ago, and it's been in my binder of favorites ever since. I made 2 small changes to it this time....I used crunchy peanut butter instead of smooth, and since I've fallen in love with Hershey's Cocoa Special Dark, I had to use that. :-)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 Tbsp cocoa (I used Hershey's Special Dark)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used crunchy... Yum)
3 cups old-fashioned Quaker oats
1 tsp. vanilla

You'll also need wax paper.

How to Make Some Yummy Goodness:

Add the first four ingredients in a saucepan (I use a 4 qt saucepan). Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in the next 3 ingredients (I have these already measured out and ready to add to the boiled mixture as soon as it's done). Beat with a spoon until it loses its shine (I stir 3-5 minutes). Spoon onto waxed paper, and cool until hardened. Store in an airtight container.

First 4 ingredients added to a 4 qt. saucepan.

Just starting to boil.

Adding the last 3 ingredients after it's done boiling.

All ingredients added together and starting to stir.

YUM! Now I need to be patient and wait for them to cool. : -)

This is a quick and easy recipe that is sure to please any chocolate lover you know, and is at least moderately healthy with all those oats in there. Enjoy! :-)

  2. It's so hot here today. I felt like making something, but didn't want to turn the oven on, so that narrowed it down to this recipe! :-)
